Hello, I'm Mo.
Before there was A State Awakenings, there was a curious little girl climbing trees, playing softball, talking a little too much (or so I was told), and asking endless questions about the world around her. I grew up in Arkansas in the country Sweet Home to be exact before moving closer to the city, but I never really felt tied to one place. Looking back, I think that's because I was always searching for something deeper.
I've always had an imagination that refused to stay inside the lines. Fantasy, nature, flowers, herbs, and the quiet beauty of the outdoors fascinated me long before I knew they would become part of my life's work.
Around 2020, my relationship with herbs transformed from curiosity into purpose. While caring for my Aunt Mary during her battle with cancer, I began researching herbs and natural wellness to support her comfort and overall well-being. What started as love for someone I cared about became a calling that forever changed me.
Around that same time, the herbalist whose creations I trusted stepped away from her work. I searched for that same level of intention and care but couldn't find it. Eventually, I stopped looking and started creating.
That's how A State Awakenings was born.
The name is deeply personal. It honors my home state of Arkansas, but it also represents something much greater: awakening from inherited limitations, releasing outdated beliefs, trusting your inner wisdom, and aligning with the truest version of yourself.
Every product I make is created with intention. Some days my workspace is filled with music. Other days it's quiet except for my prayers, affirmations, and the conversations I have with myself while creating. Every herb is chosen with care. Every blend is crafted patiently because I believe energy matters just as much as ingredients.
People often ask what makes my products different. The truth is, I don't spend much time comparing my work to anyone else's. There is room for all of us to create. I simply know what my creations carry because I know the intention poured into every bottle and every jar.
My favorite creation is ROOT 66 Road Opener Oil because it represents where this journey truly began. But my body butter will always hold a special place in my heart because it was the very first product I ever made and shared with others.
If there's one thing I hope people feel when they receive an A State Awakenings package, it's love, care, and genuine intention. I hope my products become meaningful tools that encourage people to deepen their spiritual practice, reconnect with themselves, and continue growing into who they were always meant to be.
I believe that if we heal the mind, body, and spirit—within ourselves and within our lineage—we can help heal a nation. Because healing begins in the mind.
One of my favorite sayings is, "If you're not evolving, you're dead." Growth isn't always comfortable, but it's necessary. My greatest strength has been learning to transmute darkness into light and finding the courage to believe in myself, even when it didn't come easily.
You'll almost always find me with a cup of coffee in the rising, smiling when a cardinal appears. My grandmother once told me, "Anytime you see a cardinal, it's your ancestors." I've carried those words with me ever since, and every cardinal still reminds me that love, memory, and wisdom have a way of staying close.
Whether you're here out of curiosity, searching for something meaningful, or simply exploring your own path, I'm honored that you've found your way here.
Welcome to A State Awakenings.
May your journey be filled with growth, purpose, and the courage to awaken to the highest version of yourself.
"The intentions behind these products are palpable. They've brought such peace and positive energy into my daily routine."
